ROCK'S 2020 CHRISTMAS TABLE AND MORE

Only three days till Christmas! Rock's 2020 Christmas, like many others, will be a non-traditional Christmas. I have "Decked The Halls" as usual and my home is full of holiday spirit. I will celebrate safely with my family; we chose "Christmas Movies" as our theme this year. We plan to exchange gifts, hang out in our jammies, watch our favorite Christmas movies, and pig out!

Sock It To Me Cake is on the dessert menu along with some yummy appetizers and some delicious Christmas cookies. I'll share the entire menu and recipes with you in my blog next week.

SOCK IT TO ME CAKE IS A CLASSIC CHRISTMAS FAVORITE

This moist and buttery pound cake has a brown sugar and pecan swirl cooked in the center that makes this cake to die for. I'm not sure why it's called Sock It To Me Cake, but if I had to guess I would say it might have a lot to do with the fact that It immerged during the late 60's early 70's during the hippie culture era.

The original recipe used Duncan Hines Butter Cake Mix. My version is "from scratch" and you'll find the recipe in the Something Sweet section of my cookbook Rock's Soul Food Sunday. Order your copy today for the special holiday price Hhttps://www.rockssoulfood.com/

ROCK'S CHRISTMAS TABLE 2020

I chose the traditional red and green colors for my table this year. Green represents the eternal life of Jesus, as the evergreen tree remains green all year, and red signifies the blood shed by Jesus.

THE PLACE SETTING IS BOLD AND VIVID.

Nothing sparks a holiday table like a pop of gold. The gold flatware complements the gold charger as well as the gold accents in the Lenox tablecloth. The tulip draped napkin over the wine glass flows well with the design of the plates.

THE WHITE CENTER PIECE ADDS A WINTER TOUCH TO THE TABLE.

The flameless candles surrounded by white poinsettias set the holiday mood. The gold ornaments and frosted sprigs complete the arrangement.

The silver lighted glass Christmas Tree (available only at Aldi), is mounted on a crystal leaf bowl of frosted pine cones.... accented by a crystal glass tea light which is enclosed with berries and decorations. One Christmas Tree rest on both sides of the main centerpiece.

ROCK'S BLACK ANGELS

Rock's collections of black angels are displayed at both ends of the dinning room. I found these precious ceramic, praying angels many years ago at Tuesday Morning.

A choir of Black Cherub Angels sing praises in Rock's Dining Room. I've collected these precious babies over the years.

ROCK'S FIREPLACE

Christmas Stockings adorn Rock's fireplace. If you didn't put up a tree this year(like me), display your Christmas tree ornaments in glass bowls throughout your home.

CHRISTMAS WOULD'T BE COMPLETE WITHOUT SANTA

Santa's Table is nestled in Rock's sun room, He's making his list and checking it twice. Better hurry Santa only 3 more days till Christmas.....where's Rudolph?

ROCK'S CHRISTMAS WREATH

Rock's Christmas wreath is actually Cheryl's Christmas Wreath...what??? When I made my very first wreath, for Thanksgiving, I vowed It would be my last. But how do you say no to your BFF since THE FIRST GRADE!!!!

Yep, we met in 1958, 62 years ago.....

and we've been friends every since.

MAKING CHERYL'S CHRISTMAS WREATH

I started with a straw wreath base, added berries and greenery, then some silver sparkle.....

The white poinsettias, faux fruit, and small frosted balls filled in the open spaces. Since I didn't use lights I chose these glittery pine cones, they added just enough pop.....

I put these red "PEACE BELLS" on both sides of the wreath for the perfect final touch. And Voila, Cheryl's Christmas Wreath is born!

CHERYL'S WREATH HANGS BEAUTIFULLY ON HER DOOR IN JACKSON, TENNESSEE😁

Well, next week I will share my family's non traditional Christmas with you, be safe and Happy Holidays Everybody!!!
